You pay your chef’s price, plus one service fee — and you see both before you commit to anything. There is nothing added at the end.
- 10% of your chef’s price. Never a booking fee, a service charge and a processing fee stacked on top of each other.
- The bigger the table, the smaller the share. The fee is capped at $399 through most of the range, and never rises above 6% however large the bill.
- Your chef keeps their whole quote. The fee is ours, not theirs. Nothing is taken out of what your chef quoted you.

How much does a private chef cost?
Every chef sets their own prices, and you see them up front — per person, or as a package for things like dessert tables. You'll see real prices up front, plus one transparent service fee — 10%, with a $9 minimum, capped at $399 through most of the range and never above 6% on the largest bookings. Nothing else is added at checkout.
Is my money safe?
You pay in-app and it's held in escrow — released to your chef after your event, never before. If a chef no-shows or cancels, you're fully refunded.
Can you handle allergies and dietary needs?
Yes. You give your allergies and dietary needs in the booking brief, and the chef reads them before they quote — so the menu is designed around them rather than adjusted afterwards. Anything serious, say it in your own words in the notes and message your chef directly before you book; you can talk to them before any money moves.
What if I need to cancel?
Free anytime before you pay. After booking it depends on notice, and every figure is a share of your chef’s price: more than 7 days out you get 95% back, between 48 hours and 7 days 90%, and inside 48 hours 50% — because by then your chef has shopped and turned down other work. Your chef keeps the rest for holding the date, and the service fee stays with us. If the chef cancels, you get 100% back including the service fee.
Do I need an account to book?
No — describe your evening first. We only ask for an email and phone at the end, so your chef can reach you. You'll confirm your email when you accept a quote and pay, and that's when your bookings, messages and receipts start living in one place.
What if the chef cancels?
You're refunded in full, including the service fee, whatever the timing — a chef cancelling is not your problem to absorb. It happens the moment they cancel, and your money is in escrow until after the event anyway, so there is nothing to chase.
Do I need to provide anything?
Your kitchen and your table. Your chef brings the ingredients and does the shopping, cooks in your kitchen, plates every course and cleans up after. If they need anything unusual for a menu, they will tell you when they quote.
How far ahead should I book?
A couple of weeks is comfortable for most dinners, and more for a wedding or a holiday date. Last-minute is worth asking about — chefs answer with a real yes or no rather than leaving you waiting.
